She's So Silly

Remember Mrs. Martin?

She and I aren't seeing eye to eye on what "oweing money means." In fact, she told the court she doesn't owe me back rent or legal expenses. Perhaps she should have read her lease a bit better. Because she does.

Unless Legal Eagle can get this settled out of court, it looks like I am going to have to explain this to the judge next month.

I guess her attitude is "You got your house back, what more do you want??"

I would guess YOUR response would be, "The money you still owe me deadbeat".

But that's just a guess.

What I find the most annoying is that I will have to go to a judge and explain this. She will explain her side (if she shows up) and I will win anyway.

Though I appreciate her moving out and leaving the home moderately clean when she left, it doesn't change that whole financial who-owes-who thing.

True true. I just wish these tenants would get it into their heads that simply removing all of their belongings does NOT constitute leaving the house clean. That would involve removing the grimy finger prints from the walls/doors/molding, etc. That would involve running a vacuum over the carpet and cleaning out the oven. Also, flushing the toilet BEFORE the water gets turned off would be helpful. She may have left it moderately clean, however, when you have a landlord who worked with you and you still left owing money could you at least leave it in a rentable condition?? Is that really asking too much?? She owes you EVERY penny (and then some) for forcing you to pay to get her out and then forcing you to pay to clean up after her and her multitude of children just so you could get the place rented.
